Our Programs

From holiday gifts to daily support — our five core programs.

  • Holiday Gift Packages

Our association currently delivers holiday gift packages four times a year — New Year, Gena, Ramadan, and Fasika — to around 80 people in total. Each package contains a chicken, 3 kg of onions, 1–2 liters of oil, 1/2 kg of berbere, and 10 eggs.

  • Enastemrachew (Let's Teach Them)

The main goal is to support promising children of vulnerable families — children with a bright future ahead of them — with school supplies and encouragement. In the summer of 2016 E.C. we supported about 50 children with a dozen exercise books, pens, pencils, and sharpeners each, reaching students from kindergarten through grade 12.

  • Clothe Them with Love

Starting from ourselves, guided by the word of love "whoever has two, let them give one to the one who has none" — we collect clothing that is surplus to us but essential to others from generous donors in different seasons, and we have delivered it to many people living on the street. This activity happens whenever support is available.

  • For My Sister (Lenewa Ehete)

This program was started to support sisters and mothers with menstrual hygiene. Recognizing the lack of awareness and of sanitary products — especially in rural areas — this year we provided 30 female students with sanitary pads and laundry soap, along with awareness education.

  • Day-to-Day Support

In its day-to-day work the association rents homes for 4 people; covers grocery costs for 3 people; covers education costs for 3 students; handles health needs for everyone under its care, from treatment to buying medicine; and provides full medical insurance coverage for 3 families.
